There are multiple ways you can transfer money to the Little Farm on The Savannah in Kenya. Here we show how to do it on a PC if you have Wise. If you do not have a Wise account, we recommend to get one here. It is free and in our opinion the best online bank solution, especially for international money transfers and both for private and business use.
- Login to Wise and click “Send”
- Click on the account you want to send the money from
- (Image below) Write the amount you want to send, and select Kenyan Shillings in the “Recipient gets” box. (Note: You can change the send amount and immediately see fees, currency exchange rate and the precise amount the recepient gets).
4. After clicking “Continue”, click the “Add Recipients” button
5. In the next screen chose “Someone else”
6. (Image below) To send to “The Little Farm on the Savannah” or “Savannah Entrepreneur & Business School”, write “Liz Kamau” in the Full name box and the number “+254793852433” in the Mobile account number box, then click “Confirm”
7. (Image below) You get a Transfer Details overview. Note the “Edit” and “Change” links. At the bottom you can write a short text for the recipient, for example “Entrepreneur micro-loan for school Laptop”. When all is good, click “Confirm and send”.
8. When asked to “Enter your password to confirm this transaction”, type it and click “Done”.
After 10-20 seconds you’ll get a message, usually “All done” meaning the money has already been received by the recipient, who gets a message on his or her mPesa phone. At time you’ll get a message saying it takes a bit longer than expected, where you can click “Track” to see the transfer status, but usually the money reach the recipient within half an hour.
